Leslie primarily represents businesses listening carefully to the goals and operational approach of the business and working closely with the owner or company representative to find smart solutions to complex problems. Leslie loves seeing the spark in the entrepreneurial eye of a new business owner and is drawn to assist a business owner, or soon to be business owner on the path to legal compliance and business success. Leslie loves the challenges her established business clients bring to her on a daily basis, with many clients initially approaching her with an employment law concern, then seeking advice for day to day business issues with Leslie acting as outside general counsel.  Leslie counsels businesses regarding entity choice and governance, contracts, industry compliance, real estate and zoning concerns, business and asset purchase and sales, as well as serving as a seasoned pair of eyes for potential legal pitfalls.

Leslie represents both employers and employees and uses this experience as an invaluable tool to understand both perspectives in successfully representing clients. Leslie assists business clients with issues regarding employment discrimination and retaliation, wage claims, employee v. independent contractor misclassification, employment contracts and handbooks, unemployment insurance issues, worker’s compensation matters, FMLA compliance, and defense in administrative agency matters. For employees, Leslie advises regarding restrictive covenants, tricky employment situations and employment discrimination concerns. Leslie speaks regularly on employment and business matters.

As KEW’s landlord practice continues to grow, Leslie has taken a more active role through residential and commercial lease drafting and review as well as representation of landlord clients in court.

Leslie jumps at any opportunity to communicate in Spanish, and has always loved small businesses, shopping small and independent whenever possible. When not working, Leslie is likely spending time with her family which features her sixteen-year-old rescue pup, exploring a new locale, playing outside, noshing delicious eats, or if luck strikes, enjoying all at once.
